Abstract
This paper analyzes the developments in Vietnam’s relations with China from the time both countries normalized relations in 1991 to the present. It states that the relations have improved incrementally in the time between 1991-1998 and examines the remaining unresolved issues concerning the land and sea borders between the two countries and their current status. The paper concludes that relations in the short and medium term will continue to develop on an even keel.
